:orphan: .. meta:: :description: Deep dive into the physics engine and destruction mechanics of Brick Rigs. Understand how damage works. :keywords: brick rigs physics, destruction, crash physics, deformation Physics & Destruction ===================== **Brick Rigs** is famous for its dynamic physics engine. Unlike games with static health bars, vehicles in Brick Rigs are composed of individual interconnected parts that react physically to stress and impact. Dynamic Deformation ------------------- When a collision occurs, the game calculates the force applied to each brick. * **Soft Body Physics:** Not true soft body, but the connections between bricks simulate deformation by bending and breaking. * **Detachment:** High impacts will cause parts to fly off. A wheel can be torn from an axle, or a wing from a plane. Material Properties ------------------- Different materials have different properties: * **Steel/Metal:** High durability, heavy. Good for armor and chassis. * **Plastic/Lightweight:** Low durability, light. Good for aircraft skin. * **Gold/Tungsten:** Extremely heavy. Used for balancing weight. Destruction Types ----------------- 1. **Impact Damage:** Crashing into walls or other vehicles. 2. **Explosive Damage:** From tank shells, RPGs, or fuel tank explosions. 3. **Fire:** Flammable components can catch fire, spreading damage and eventually exploding. Performance Note ---------------- High levels of destruction (thousands of loose bricks) are CPU intensive. If your game lags during crashes, try using "God Mode" (invulnerability) to prevent destruction or clear debris frequently.
